Former Carson City Little Leaguer and current member of the Washington Nationals' organization Darrell Rasner will make an appearance at the final signups for Carson City Little League.

The signups will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 4 at the Carson City Community Center north foyer. Rasner will be there from 9-11 a.m. to talk baseball and sign autographs.

Those signing up need to bring three current proofs of residency, such as utility bills, and the child's birth certificate. Boys and girls ages 5-12 are eligible. Cost is $40 per child and $60 per family

Rasner was a member of the 1992 Carson American Little League team, the last Carson team to win a state title. He's now a pitcher in the Washington Nationals' organization and saw Major League action with the Nationals last fall.

It should be noted that Saturday will be the last chance to sign up without paying a late fee. Signups will also be accepted from 6-9 p.m. next week at the Carson City Community Center gym, but a $25 late fee will be charged.
