If you haven't been to the Northern Nevada Children's Museum this month, you might want to take your children or grandchildren to check out the grand opening of the Carson Tahoe Regional Medical Center exhibit.
The display officially unveiled at the end of May, but with school out, it's a good time to enjoy the newest interactive exhibit. While there, check out all the fun programs and classes offered to children throughout the summer.

The Carson Tahoe Regional Auxiliary Gift Shop is having its annual "End of Spring Sale," featuring 30 percent off on most merchandise.
The shop offers support to the regional medical center, funding nursing scholarships, the "new" cancer center - and my favorite - helping mothers with the newborn layettes. The shop has a variety of items. This is the auxiliary's main fundraiser of the year so go help these wonderful ladies who do so much behind the scenes.
As a side note, losing Deena McKenzie will be a huge blow to the auxiliary so it will need all the help it can get. I'm sorry to see that happen to such an outstanding woman in our community.

This next fundraiser is a great night of sipping wine and enjoying a beautiful night at the Thunder Canyon County Club. Thursday's event benefits the Pinkerton Ballet Theater's "The Nutcracker" ballet performed by local children and young adults every Thanksgiving. Beth Kitchen, organizer of "An Evening of Wine and Tchaikovsky," said the event includes a string quartet and silent auction. See Teri Basa at the Sugar Pine Cove to purchase tickets.

Summer starts Wednesday, and there are great things happening at the Brewery Arts Center. Camp Broadway is a place where your favorite young actor can learn about dance, movement, drama and visual arts.
If acting is not his or her passion, Art Adventures for Kids offers lessons in drawing and how to use assorted painting techniques, and general art principles, from watercolor to pastels.
The BAC also offers an Improv Workshop for children. Check to see if funding is available for summer scholarships for low-income families. In our town, we help everyone learn, thanks to generous donations toward scholarships.
