A Carson City man was injured Thursday afternoon in a rollover accident on State Route 341.

Raymond Gaudette, 33, was southbound about 3 p.m. when he drifted off the roadway. Nevada Highway Patrol Sgt. Mark Clark said Gaudette came back onto the asphalt, crossed the roadway then overcorrected and ended up in a ravine where the 1973 Ford truck overturned.

Clark said a passerby stopped and pried opened Gaudette's truck door and Gaudette was able to get out of the wreckage himself. The witness allegedly told Clark that Gaudette asked for a ride home.

Gaudette was transported to Washoe Medical Center by Care Flight helicopter with "facial contusions and rib pain," Clark said.

Clark said Gaudette allegedly told troopers he had recently smoked marijuana. Blood was taken at the hospital to determine if he was under the influence at the time of the wreck.

Charges are pending, Clark said.
