Scouting Nevada: Weather has taken over in Northern Nevada, costing the Pack one of its games against Portland ... This five-game series means a lot of work for coach Gary Powers' pitching staff ... Matt Bowman isn expected to start at third, only the second time all season he has been a position player because of an injury. He filled in at second late in the last game of the Portland series.
Scouting Northern Illinois: The Huskies knocked off San Jose State 2-1, but had games at Saint Mary's College and UC Davis rained out earlier this week ... Pat Minoge has a six-game hitting streak going ... The Huskies' bullpen has been great thus far, throwing 14 straight scoreless innings.
