Tyler Smith hit a walk-off home run in the bottom of the eighth inning to complete a three-game sweep of Douglas as Carson won the second game of a doubleheader on Saturday 8-7. Carson won the opener 15-2.
Matt Rutledge allowed one run on no hits and struck out six over the last five innings for the win. Smith, Kyle Stone and Paul Cagle all had three hits for Carson.
Steven Sawyers pitched a complete game for the win in the opener that was called after 5 1/2 innings. Sawyers allowed two hits while scattering seven hits and struck out five through six inngs.
Cagle was 4-for-5 with a two-run home run, David Eller had two hits and a solo shot and Kevin Hollaway and Rutledge each had two hits.
