Carson High sophomore Mike Aglietti recently helped lead his Capital Thunder ice hockey team to the Northern California and state titles.

The Thunder of Roseville, Calif., went 8-0 through the duration of the NorCal and state playoffs. Aglietti received the team's coaches award this past season and was also chosen to participate in the highly regarded Pacific District Camp.

The top players from the Pacific district states are chosen for the camp, giving them the opportunity to be picked for the national camp, which is attended by many college hockey coaches.

Aglietti, who is an honor roll student and member of the National Honor Society, has also qualified for the state skiing championships his first two years at Carson. During the ski season, Aglietti would also play hockey, traveling to the Sacramento area two nights a week for practice and weekend games.

The Thunder traveled all over Northern and Southern California and Utah and Arizona for games. Aglietti is now a diver for the Carson boys swimming and diving team.
