William Ross English

William Ross English, 74, a resident of San Jose, Calif., died April 23, 2006, at his home.

He was born Jan. 25, 1932, in Chateaugay, N.Y., to Edward English and Elizabeth Grinshaw.

He had a bachelor of science degree.

Mr. English was a program manager for Lockheed-Martin.

He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War.

Mr. English was a financial contributor to Oxfam America, Doctors Without Borders, Second Harvest Food Bank, Raphael House of San Francisco and Amnesty International.

Among his survivors are his wife, Pam Rhodes English; son William S. English; daughters Linda M. Birlew and Janice M. Martin; sister Ann Carlson; brother Paul English; five grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service was held April 29, 2006, at the St. Julie Bulliart Catholic Church in San Jose.

Oak Hill Funeral Home in San Jose is in charge of arrangements.
