Douglas softball falls against Reed

The Douglas softball team was eliminated from the Northern 4A playoffs on Friday in a 12-0 loss against Reed at Carson High.

Senior Mitzi Olsen gave the Tigers a valiant effort as she has done over the past two weeks to help place Douglas in the position that it was, but she simply ran out of gas on the mound.

"She gave us everything she had," Douglas coach Lori Rachilla said. "We taxed her a little bit." Douglas was led offensively by Lauren Hoppe.

Correction

Kyle Mandoki, Johnny Hazeltine and Markus Adams were listed as seniors in an article on the Carson High baseball team that appeared in Friday's Appeal.

Mandoki and Hazeltine are juniors while Adams is a sophomore. Senior T.J. Hein was also not listed. Carson has 10 seniors, not 12.
