A Carson City teen will be cited by the Nevada Highway Patrol for illegally passing on State Route 341, which caused a Thursday accident that injured five other passengers, according to the NHP.

Andrew Willett, 17, and Matt Willett, 18, both of Carson City, were taken by Care Flight to Washoe Medical Center with minor injuries after the 10 p.m. accident.

Jessica Evans, 16, Griffen Garaehl, 14, and Sebastian Casas-Cortes, 18, sustained minor injuries. Evans and Anthony Stewart, both 18, were transported to the hospital by ambulance.

Stewart, of Carson City, crossed a double line two miles from Gold Hill, lost control of the Toyota Corolla and hit an embankment, according to the NHP. The teens were heading home from Virginia City. Citations are pending.
