A funeral service for Warren O. Erickson, 84, an 18-year Carson City resident, will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at St. Paul's Lutheran Church at the corner of Saliman Road and Highway 50 East.
Visitation will take place from 7-8 p.m. today at FitzHenry's Chapel of Faith on Fairview Drive. Burial will follow the service at the Lone Mountain Cemetery.
Mr. Erickson died May 19, 2006, at his home. He was born June 29, 1921, in Milwaukee to Oliver Erickson and Helen Sager.
He married Evelyn M. Kraak March 14, 1945 in Richland Center, Wis.
Before moving to Carson City, Mr. Erickson lived in Plantation, Fla.
He developed an isophthalic resin used to manufacture polyester gelcoats for the marine and cultured-marble industry and to coat the rides at Disneyland and Disney World. He was an engineer and built the first Corvette body.
He received several awards, and was a member of the Society of Plastics Engineering.
He enjoyed golfing, fishing and playing bridge.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Ruth Bowman.
Among his survivors are his wife of 61 years of Carson City; son and daughter-in-law, Dr. Richard and Marlene Erickson of Broomfield, Colo.; daughters and sons-in-law Diane and Steve Lengauer of Carson City and Deborah and Glenn Downs of Palm City, Fla.; and five grandchildren.
