Mary 'Adele' Squires Davis

A memorial service for Mary "Adele" Squires Davis, 88, an Ivins, Utah, resident, will be 11 a.m. Monday at Metcalf Mortuary, 288 W. St. George Blvd., St. George, Utah.

Mrs. Davis died Sept. 29, 2006, at her home. She was born Aug. 13, 1918, in Salt Lake City to Leslie "Les" and Chloe Young Squires.

She graduated from East High School and received a bachelor's degree from the University of Utah in 1941.

She married Newell P. Davis in November 1941. They owned a travel agency for 25 years in the Pacific Northwest.

She was a lifelong member of the Delta Gamma Sorority and a contributing member of the Children's Orthopedic Hospital Guild. She was a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Gordon Squires.

Among her survivors are her husband of 64 years of Herber, Utah; sons Randall Kent Davis of Gardnerville and Richard Newell Davis of Minden; and two granddaughters at South Lake Tahoe and one in Reno.

Graveside services will be held at a later date.

Metcalf Mortuary in St. George is in charge of arrangements.
