The Carson girls and boys tennis teams were quite happy to see that Hug was able to put full squads on the court on Tuesday.

In the past, Carson was lucky to play a few matches when it took on Hug as last year the Hawks only had three players. But this year, Hug brought 16 players to the CHS tennis courts and while the Senators still won 15-3, Carson coach Diane Baker-Roberts was still happy to see Hugs contingent and was impressed with some of their players. "They had some decent singles players," Robert said.

In singles for Carson, Christa Casci won 6-0, 6-2, Lisa Midboe won 6-0, 6-1 Elizabeth Gohr won 6-3, Elise Hansen won 6-1, Stephanie Adamson won 6-3 and Tiffany Moore won 6-4.

In doubles, Emily Wang and Kristen Charles won 6-1, 6-2, Sarah Asp and Meagan Carter won 6-0, Jenni Hood and Kristi Philippi won 6-1, Asp and Michelle Mauer won 6-4, Llanie Ibarra and Joanna Xie won 6-0 and Jenna Greenburg and Breanna Collings won 6-1.

In other matches, Molly Champion and Alejandra Melgarejo won 6-0 and Amanda Otto and Hannah Shaw won 6-1 in doubles and in singles, Amanda Nelson won 6-4 and Carrie Linn won 6-2.

Roberts is still trying to nail down her lineup with a tough match coming up on Tuesday at South Tahoe. The Vikings have beaten Galena 11-7 and lost to Reno High 10-8.

"I was able to get in a lot of subs," Roberts said. "But I still haven't found what meshes well together in doubles."

Carson coach Pat Houlihan was also pleased to see Hug have a full team. "They have more than enough players for the team which is a big start," he said. "I'm very pleased to see they've something off the ground."

For Carson, Spencer Brinson, Jeff Van Epps, Brad Henningson, Gordan Lee, Tom Pringle, Tyler Wing and Jon Kane, Chris Canonigo and Scott Huynh won in singles and Bryt Lewis and Brad Cobler, Nick Smallman and Jordan Rogers, Nathaniel Hamer and James Pelz, Spencer Trapp and Rick Nguyen, Hamer and Grant Jeppson, Jordan Miller and Alex Wing, Kevin Craig and Mark Roges, Spencer Gibb and Kyle Campbell and Collin Grischott and Luke Gentner all won in doubles. Craig and Rogers won twice.
