The Carson High girls tennis team looked impressive again in its final tuneup for the first major test of the season.

Carson (4-0, 3-0 in the Sierra League) routed North Valleys 16-2 on Thursday at the CHS courts. Next up for the Senators is a match on Tuesday at South Tahoe. The Vikings have played on even terms with traditionally the Northern 4A's top two teams as they beat Galena 11-7 and lost to Reno High 10-8.

"That will be the test," Carson coach Diane Baker Roberts said. "I think that would really boost our confidence to beat Tahoe."

Roberts said the play of her doubles has improved, which will be a key to having any chance against South Tahoe. "I figured out some doubles," she said.
