William Ocenas, 89, a 30-year Carson City resident, died Sept. 12, 2006, in Carson City.

Mr. Ocenas was born Aug. 10, 1917, in Hudson, Wyo., to Alex Ocenas and Vera Namet.

He married Lorraine Stagnes in Riverton, Wyo.

Before moving to Carson City, Mr. Ocenas lived in Santa Clara, Calif.

He was a business agent for Cement Masons and had served in the U.S. Navy Seabees.

He belonged to the Shriners and enjoyed bowling, working in the yard, fishing and hunting.

He was preceded in death by two brothers and by daughter Lorrae Bravo, in 1998 in Livermore, Calif.

Among his survivors are his wife; son Gary Ocenas of North Carolina; daughter Margorie Johnston of Gardnerville; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Cremation will take place at FitzHenry's Crematory in Carson City.

FitzHenry's Funeral Home in Carson City is in charge of arrangements.
