Lyon Utilities hoping for grants to provide sewer service to Mound House

Mound House may get sewer service if Lyon County can come up with the funding.

Lyon Utilities Director Mike Workman said that the county is evaluating funding sources such as the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Rural Communities program or the Army Corps of Engineers.

The county hopes to obtain grant funds to provide sewer service to Mound House that would include main trunk lines to serve both the industrial as well as the residential areas.

The issue will be discussed at the Lyon County Commission meeting on Thursday.
