A graveside service for Robert Eugene Harvey, 78, of Minden, will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Northern Nevada Veterans Cemetery in Fernley.

Mr. Harvey died Feb. 3, 2007, at his home.

He was born Nov. 12, 1928, in Dubuque, Iowa.

He married Judith Morgan in Hawthorne.

Before moving to Minden, Mr. Harvey lived in Hawthorne.

He served in the U.S. Navy for 20 years before his retirement in 1965. After his military retirement he worked as a civilian in the fire service, retiring to Japan in 1986.

He was a past Worshipful Master of the Hawthorne Masonic Lodge and a past Worthy Patron of the Eastern Star Chapter of Hawthorne. He was also a member of the Scottish Rites and the Aloha Temple of Agana, Guam.

He enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Mr. Harvey was preceded in death by two uncles.

Among his survivors are his wife; one sister; a brother and sister-in-law; and two stepsons.
