Yerington takes third in 3A state

Yerington's Stephen Skroch pinned Spring Creek's Tyler Collins in 31 seconds to win the NIAA 3A State title at 215, finishing an impressive effort for the Lions.

The Lions had seven wrestlers who placed as they took third with 115 points behind Pahrump Valley (146) and Spring Creek (154). Two other Lyon County wrestlers won state titles.

Dayton's Josh Coughlin beat Yerington's Daniel Bauer 7-3 for the title at 189 and Fernley's Kevin Martinez won by pin in overtime against Spring Creek's Josh David at 125.
