'Elements' paintings coming to WNCC


"Elements," a collection of large-scale paintings by artist Heather Patterson, will be hanging at WNCC's College Gallery in the Bristlecone Building through March 23.


There will be an artists reception 4:30- 6:30 p.m. Wednesday in the gallery. For information, call 445-3000.




Open Space Advisory Committee meets


The Carson City Open Space Advisory Committee meets at 5:30 p.m. today in the Sierra Room of the Community Center, 851 E. William St.


Topics include partial funding for bridges over Mexican Ditch, an easement on Horse Creek Ranch and discussions about the Open Space Program and Quality of Life Initiative.




Fey to host discussion on slots


Author Marshall Fey will host a program and discussion on slot machines at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Nevada State Museum.

D'Vine Wine to host 'Wine Club'


D'Vine Wine will be holding the first meeting of its Wine Club at 6 p.m. Wednesday in the private room.

NARFE to hear deputy fire chief


The Min-Gard NARFE Chapter 2167 meets at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Carson Valley United Methodists Church, 1375 Centerville Lane in Gardnerville.


The guest speaker is Deputy Chief Bobby Wartgow, East Fork Fire and Paramedic districts.


All retired and active federal employees, as well as any one else interested are invited.

Reno photographers to stage show


"PHOTO FANDANGO," an Accomplished and Upstart Photographers Invitational show will be on display 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Friday-March 31 daily at the Artists Co-Op Gallery at 627 Mill St., Reno. Meet the Artists Reception is 1-4 p.m. March 4. Refreshments will be served.


The show is an assemblage of photographers displaying works resulting from their unique experiences with their environment.
