A visitation for Irene McCabe, 70, a Carson City resident since 1991, will be from 1 - 4 p.m. today at Walton's Chapel of the Valley.

Mrs. McCabe died Feb. 23, 2007 in Carson City. She was born Oct. 30, 1936, in Denver to Emory and Helen Newman.

She married DeWayne T. McCabe on Feb. 1, 1957, in Las Vegas.

Before moving to Carson City, Mrs. McCabe lived at South Lake Tahoe.

She was employed at Harrah's at Tahoe for 21 years.

She enjoyed gardening and collecting antiques.

She was preceded in death by her brother James Nichols.

Among her survivors are her husband of Carson City; sons Timothy Trumpkie of Oklahoma, Thomas McCabe of Carson City, Kevin McCabe of Spokane, Wash., Michael McCabe of Longview, Wash., and Kenneth McCabe of Tennessee; daughters Gloria Schambler and Deborah Fosciano, both of Plymouth, Calif., and Michelle Gray of Longview, Wash.; sisters Linda Shane of Ogden, Utah, and Ruby Cochran of Merced, Ore.; brothers Emory Newman of Klammath, Iowa, and Eugene Nichols of LaVerne, Ga.; 22 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Burial will take place at Walton's Carson Garden's Cemetery.

Walton's Chapel of the Valley is in charge of arrangements.
