Douglas Democratic women to meet Monday


The Douglas County Democratic Women will meet at 11:30 a.m. Monday at the Carson Valley Inn, Minden. Guest speakers are State Senate Minority Leader Dina Titus and representatives from "Nevadans for Quality Education." A luncheon is served at noon; cost is $15 in advance, $18 at the door. Reno RV show this weekend


The 35th annual Reno Boat, Sport and RV show will be using the four largest halls of the Reno-Sparks Convention Center this weekend. It will show luxury RVs, travel trailers, tent campers, cab-overs, fifth wheels, ATV, and other outdoor equipment. It runs today through Sunday.


Hours are 2-9 p.m. tonight, 11 a.m.-9 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and 11 a.m.-6 p.m. Sunday. Admission is $8 for adults, $6 for senior citizens, and free for children 12 and under. Discounts of $2 are available by visiting www.bigshows.com. For information, call 747-7722.




Brüka to present children's comedy


"Many Moons" is a live-theater performance incorporating physical theatrics, improvisation and audience interaction. This classic piece of literature was written in the 1930s by one of America's great humorists, James Thurber. It is a tale of a princess who wants the moon, and how she gets it.

Circus coming to Reno


The Kerak Shrine Circus appears Friday at 7:30 p.m.; Saturday at 10 a.m., 2:30 and 7:30 p.m.; and Sunday at 1:30 and 6 p.m. at the Reno Livestock Events Center. Tickets can be purchased at the Reno Livestock Events Center or by calling 856-3330. General admission is $12; reserved $17, VIP $27 and executive VIP $35.




Diamond Rio comes to Reno's Atlantis


Diamond Rio will perform in the Atlantis Grand Ballroom Friday and Saturday. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. with the show starting at 7:30. Tickets are $38 in advance or $42 at the door or at the Atlantis Gift Shop or at 824-4467 or (888) 551-7007. Must be 21.
