A graveside service with military honors for Joe T. Coursey, 70, a Carson City resident since 1995, will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Northern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Fernley.

Visitation will be noon to 4:30 p.m. Wednesday at Walton's Chapel of the Valley.

Mr. Coursey died Jan. 12, 2007, in Carson City. He was born Dec. 28, 1936, in Pauls Valley, Okla., to James. G. Coursey and Faye Jefferson.

Before moving to Carson City, Mr. Coursey lived at Lake Tahoe from 1978-95.

He attended high school in Oklahoma. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean and Vietnam wars, retiring after 20 years of service.

He belonged to the Church of Christ.

Among his survivors are his longtime companion, Mary Corea of Carson City; stepdaughter, Colleen Rogers of Port Angeles, Wash.; and sister, Betty Lou of Ohio.

Walton's Chapel of the Valley is in charge of arrangements.
