BAC membership meeting is Monday in the ballroom
The Brewery Arts Center will hold its annual membership meeting at 6:30 p.m. Monday in the BAC Ballroom. Members and guests are invited to come and learn about recent and upcoming activities at the BAC.

New meeting spot for Dharma Zephyr Sangha
The Buddhist meditation group Dharma Zephyr Sangha has changed the location of its Monday evening gatherings.
The group now meets at 213 N. Minnesota St., at the corner of Proctor. Meditation starts promptly at 7 p.m. with discussion and special topics following, until 8:30 p.m.
The first Monday of each month is dedicated to instructions for beginners, though beginners may attend any other Monday as well. All are welcome; donations are welcome, though not necessary.

Free wedding event today at Michael's crafts
Michael's Arts and Crafts will have a free Wedding Event Day 1-3 p.m. today. There will be demonstrations on invitation ideas, floral and bow making ideas, and favor ideas. Other ideas on designing wedding jewelry and wedding photo layouts will be shared. At 3 p.m. there will be a free wedding basket giveaway.

Singles group hosting Caribbean pirates party
Carson Valley Chapter of the Tahoe Singles is hosting a Pirates of the Caribbean Party at 3 p.m. today at the Cottonwood Creek Farm, 1702 Sanchez Road, Gardnerville (go east on Buckeye from 395 in Minden, right on East Valley, right on Drury, right on Sanchez).
Come as your favorite or least-favorite character. Chicken, ribs, corn on the cob and rum punch will be served. Bring $10 and whatever else you would like to eat or drink to share. Carey Ott offers free show at Crystal Bay
With a voice reminiscent of Neil Finn and acoustic guitar skills comparable to Paul Simon, singer songwriter Carey Ott brings his unique sound to the Crystal Bay Club's Red Room 9 p.m. Monday. This is a free show.
Ott is a Chicago transplant to Nashville, currently signed to Dualtone Records. His songs have been featured on "Grey's Anatomy."
