A rosary will be said for Raymond Slupe, 79, a 12-year Carson City resident, at 7 p.m. Monday at Walton's Chapel of the Valley. A funeral mass will be celebrated 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church.

Mr. Slupe died July 12, 2007, in Carson City. He was born June 17, 1928, in Austin, Minn., to Raymond A. and Dorothy Bates Slupe.

He married Dorothy Jensen on April 30, 1947, in Denver. He was a former resident of Nevada City and Walnut Creek, Calif.

He was a private pilot and enjoyed flying, boating and fishing. He was a member of St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church.

He was preceded in death by daughter, Patty Hess.

Among his survivors are his wife, of Carson City; daughters Cathie Hess of Martinez, Calif., Raetta Tokuda of Fairfield, Calif., Theresa Morgan of Longview, Wash., and Susan Allison of Martinez; son Larry of Shingletown, Calif.; half-sister Dottie Ray Naughton of Denver; brother Ming Lee; 14 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

Cremation will be at Walton's Sierra Crematory. Inurnment will be at St. Patrick Cemetery in Grass Valley, Calif.

Walton's Chapel of the Valley is in charge of arrangements.
