Richard John McRice, 95, died July 16, 2007, at the Northwestern Medical Center in Saint Albans Town, Vt.
Mr. McRice lived most of his life in the Carson City area before moving to Swanton, Vt., in 2004.
He was born April 1, 1912, in Oakland, Calif., to John and Nora Vaughn McRice.
He was married to Lillian, who preceded him in death in 2002.
He attended schools in Oakland.
He was self-employed as a painter.
Among his survivors are his daughters Eleanor Knapp of Swanton and Carolyn Combs of San Diego; son, Gerald McRice of Chico, Calif.; sister, Suzie Dame; brother, Don McRice of California; eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
At his request, funeral services and burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
