Comstock Typeslingers and Sagebrush Journalists exhibit, 10 a.m.-5 p.m. daily, Historic Fourth Ward School, 537 S. C St. The long tradition of newspaper publishing on the Comstock is marked by the early typeslingers who later became noted journalists such as Mark Twain, Dan DeQuille, Alf Doten, Wells Drury, Joe Goodman, Denis McCarthy, Fred Hart, Alf Chartz, Arthur McEwen, Lyin' Jim Townsend and Sam Davis. Mound House Flea Market, 8 a.m.-5 p.m., Saturday and Sunday, 10104 Highway 50 E. New flea market now open at the Antique Mall in Mound House; Lyon County's only licensed flea market. Set up is at 6 a.m.; vendors pay $10 per day, free admission to the public. Call 246-1618.

Flat Track Racing at Thunder Bowl, 5 p.m. Thunder Bowl Speedway, Thunder Road off Industrial Road, Mound House. Flat track motorcycle and quad ATV racing takes place as part of the Northern Nevada Championship Series. All motorcycles and quads are welcome as well as all ages and skill levels. Jazzin' Up The Comstock, noon, Piper's Opera House & Seven Mile Canyon Ranch, Union & B streets - Executive Sweet will kick off the event at Piper's at noon with Motown rhythm and blues and an invite to the barbecue at 6 p.m. No cover charge and only $10 a plate for the barbecue. Xecutive Sweet, The Miles Kiechler Trio, Tony Cataldo Experiment and the Remmel Wilson Trio are at Piper's throughout the afternoon. Tickets $15 in advance and $20 at the door.
