Raymond C. Browne, 84, a Fernley resident for more than a year, died May 15, 2007, at his home.

He was born July 22, 1922, in Maryland to Raymond and Mary Stevens Browne.

Before moving to Fernley, he lived in Carson City for 15 years.

Mr. Browne was a contractor.

He served in the Army Air Corps during World War II.

He was a volunteer with the Carson City Railroad Museum, and he worked for the Senior Companion Program in Carson City. He enjoyed fishing and photography and wrote a guidebook to old ghost towns in Nevada.

He was preceded in death by his sister Margarite Klooney and brother, William Browne.

Among his survivors are his son, Michael Lopez, of Woodside, Calif.; daughters and sons-in-law Sandi and Marvin Singer of Eureka, Calif., and Pam and Chuck Morelli of Fernley; sister Rose Marie Valngas of Baltimore; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Cremation will be at Capitol City Cremation.
