Erika Garcia scored off of an assist from Natasha Olivera in the first six minutes and the Dayton High girls soccer team never looked back in a 2-0 win over Whittell on Thursday.
Natasha Wells scored Dayton's other goal two minutes in the second half. Goalie Stephanie Shoup made five shutouts to post the shutout for the Dust Devils (7-3, 6-1 in the Northern 3A).
CHS freshmen football beats Hug
Trey Jensen scored two touchdowns as the Carson High freshmen football team beat Hug 20-6 on Thursday.
Cody Metcalf scored the other touchdown for Carson (3-3, 2-1 in the Sierra League). Chris Marsh kicked two extra points and Chris Steele, Jon Parker, Sean Weekley, Danny Gall, Tyler Collins, Mike Bolanos, Chris Foss and Bryce Altus all played well defensively.
