The Carson High volleyball team tuned up for a key two-match run with a 25-19, 25-14, 25-16 win at Hug on Thursday.
Mavil Diaz had five kills, one ace and one dig, Breanna Anderson had five kills and one block, Nikki Keller ahd five kills and an ace and Morgan Nuckolls added four kills for Carson (6-4 in the Sierra League).
"We did OK," Carson coach Shana Wilkins said. "It's really hard to make your own energy. We did what we needed to do. We weren't phenomenal."
Carson should find out where it stands in the Northern 4A over the next two matches. The Senators will play a possible playoff opponent today when it travels to meet Galena at 6 p.m. Then the Senators will host Damonte Ranch on Tuesday in a match that should be for third place in the Sierra League.

The Tigers (27-4, 9-1) won 26-24, 27-25, 25-19. Jourdan Burke had 12 kills, two digs, two points and an ace, Jessica Waggoner had 11 kills, one dig, two points and five blocks, Taryn Williams had 10 kills, nine points and nine digs, Melissa Brown had six kills, three digs, three aces, six points, one assist and three blocks, Bridget Maestretti had four kills, one dig, one point and three blocks, Megan Mitchell had four kills, four aces, nine points, 41 assists and five blocks, Allie Hughes had two kills, two digs, one assist, two points and two blocks, Alyssa Todd had two kills and an assist, Christine DuPuis had one kill and three digs, Mysta Townsell had 10 digs and five points Mary Lombino had two aces, nine points and eight digs and Jordan Marsh added one assist, two points and six digs.
Douglas won the junior varsity match 2-0 and the freshmen match 2-0.

Carson (12-2) won the junior varsity match 25-15, 25-14. Brittney Wyatt had two aces, four digs and one kill, Alexis Church had four digs, Skylar Peterson had two kills, Meagan Nuckolls had three aces, Shelby Price had two blocks and three kills, Brittney Sly had one kill, Karli Dodge had two aces, one dig and one kill, Sarah Kerkla had one ace, Natalia Pecorilla had two aces, thre kills and a dig and Kendra Krupp added three digs, one block and one kill.
CHS FROSH 2, HUG 1
Carson (12-1) won the freshmen match 16-25, 25-21, 15-7. Elysse Virden had five kills and four blocks, Jeanette VanSickle had four kills, Jazmine Stokes had six aces and four killes and Kleine Hernandez had two aces and seven digs.
