Bolton Racing stays in first in its class

Gardnerville's Danny and Brad Bolton drove Bolton Racing's No. 7223 Ford Ranger to a third place finish in the 7200 class at the Best in the Desert's Las Vegas 300, maintaining their position as first in class.

The podium finish was crucial for the team's class championship standings, which it 's currently leading with 347 points. Camburg Racing is not for behind with 340 points, followed by Swift Racing with 321 points and Team Orbit with 313 points. The Henderson 400, the last race of the season on December 1 will determine the class champion.

The Las Vegas 300 consisted of 95 teams competing on a three lap, 82.2-mile course, located outside of Las Vegas. Bolton Racing started in the third position for its class, behind Holmes Racing and Camburg Racing, respectively.

Danny passed Camburg Racing within the first 20 miles. Determined to not be left in Holmes' dust, he passed Holmes in the whoops, gaining the physical lead. The glory was short lived when Holmes caught up on the straightaway. This back-and-forth chase played out throughout the race.

"It was a privilege to be out there racing with the Holmes who have been racing for years," said Danny. "It was fun dicing back and forth with them."

Bolton Racing suffered three flats to its tires during the 247-mile race, causing it to lose the lead. Danny maintained a competitive pace, placing third in his class and 24th overall with a time on the course of less than five hours and 30 minutes.
