First day of People's Law School is today
The People's Law School is being presented at the Nevada State Legislature 6-8:30 p.m. today and Thursdays through Nov. 8. This is a free lecture series.
The People's Law School offers an opportunity to better understand legal rights and is presented as a public service by the Nevada Foundation for Consumer Education, The Nevada Trial Lawyers Association and the Nevada Law Foundation IOTA Grant Funds.
Each week's program will explore different legal topics with the help of Nevada attorneys, judges and legislators.

Sons of the American Legion meet tonight
An organizational meeting of the Capitol Squadron 4 of the Sons of the American Legion will meet 6 p.m. today in the Veteran's Annex of the Heroes Memorial Building located on the corner of Second and Curry streets.
The Sons of the American Legion invites all sons or grandsons of Legionnaires and those who have lost their fathers, grandfathers, mothers or grandmothers serving in uniform during time of armed conflict.

RTC RIDE schedule for Nevada Day
The schedule for RTC RIDE bus services on Nevada Day, celebrated Friday will follow the normal weekday schedule. RTC SIERRA SPIRIT in downtown Reno and RTC INTERCITY will not be affected. Visit rtcwashoe.com or call 348-RIDE.

Haunted House is open today
See ghosts, goblins and ghouls at the Haunted House 6-9 p.m. Oct. 25-26 at the Community Roots Nursery on the corner of Highway 50 and 2nd Street across from the Pizza Factory. The cost is $4 for kids ages 8-16 and $6 for adults.
