What's closed for Nevada Day holiday

State and Carson City offices will be closed today for Nevada Day.

The Carson City Sanitary Landfill will be open on today, closed on Saturday and open on Sunday.

School will not be in session today in Carson, Storey, Lyon or Douglas school districts.

Western Nevada College campuses and learning centers in Carson City, Fallon, Minden, Fernley, Hawthorne, Lovelock, Smith Valley and Yerington will be closed.

The Carson City Marriage Bureau, 885 E. Musser St., will be open today-Sunday from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. to issue marriage licenses. There will not be a judge available on today to perform weddings. A judge will be available Saturday.

The front counter of the Carson City Sheriff's Department will be closed today.

Carson City Senior Citizens Center and the Dayton, Douglas, Storey Silver Springs and Yerington senior centers will be closed.

The Carson City Library will be closed today and Saturday.

Lyon County public libraries, other county offices and the marriage bureau will be closed today.

Douglas County public libraries will be closed today and Saturday.

The U.S. Post Office locations are open for Nevada Day.

Bank of America, Wells Fargo, Bank of the West, First National Bank, and U.S. Bank will be open on today. Colonial Bank, Heritage Bank, Irwin Union and the Greater Nevada Credit Union will be closed today.

Citifare will be on its regular schedule; PRIDE will operate normally. Call 348-RIDE for complete schedules and information. JAC will be run today and will be offering rides on amended routes on Saturday. Call 841-RIDE for complete schedules and information 841-RIDE .

The Nevada State Museum will be open from 8:30 a.m.-4:30. Saturday. Admission is free.

Halloween and trick-or-treating will be celebrated in Carson City on Wednesday.

The Nevada Appeal business offices will be open.

The Animal Services Office will be closed on today and open Saturday.
