A Carson City 18-year-old was arrested this afternoon about 5:30 p.m. after he allegedly brandished a 9 mm handgun at shoppers at the Topsy Lane Wal-Mart.
Carson City and Douglas County police responded to the area and Douglas County officers stopped the subject at gunpoint near Trader Joe's. A witness reported seeing him toss a camouflage backpack containing the handgun in the field below the King Buffet and south of Bodines.
Officers from both counties are currently searching the field for the backpack.
