Carson volleyball rolls past Spanish Springs

The Carson High volleyball team turned in another solid effort in a 25-13, 25-15, 25-14 win at Spanish Springs on Tuesday.

"It was very similar to our last match we played," said Carson coach Shana Wilkins, comparing the match to Thursday's sweep against Reed. "It went really well.

"We got to work on some things that we needed to work on. It was a good match and overall my bench did really well."

Breanna Anderson had nine kills and dig and a block, Danae Eckart had four kills, five aces, four digs and two blocks, Nikki Keller had four kills and a block and Shannon Earwood had a dig, two blocks, two kills and 29 assists for Carson.

GALENA 3, DAMONTE RANCH 0

Galena picked up an impressive win against the defending state champion, beating Damonte Ranch 25-19, 25-20, 26-24.

Emily Aguiar had eight kills and five blocks, Rebecca Pate had six kills, four aces and two blocks, Casey Burke had four kills and six digs, Megan Fincher had 20 assists and 6 digs, Bre Crook had 13 digs, Chelsea Matteoni had six digs, Allison Smith had six blocks and Brittany Sievert added two blocks.

Galena won the junior varsity match 25-16, 25-18 and Damonte won the freshmen match 25-23, 25-19.

CHS JVS 2, SPANISH SPRINGS 1

Carson won the junior varsity match 25-20, 22-25, 15-7. Natalia Pecorilla had eight kills, Brittany Wyatt had three kills and five digs and Karli Dodge had five kills, two digs, five aces and a block for Carson.

CHS FROSH 2, SPANISH SPRINGS 0

Carson won the freshmen match 25-22, 26-24. Jazmine Stokes had three kills and four assists, Elizabeth Bennett had four aces and three assists, Breann Perry had two digs, Makayla Drahos had three aces and four kills, Bailey Young had two kills, Kleine Hernandez had two digs and an assist, Jeanette Van Sickle had one block, Ali Thompson had two aces and one kill, Kristi Shaffer had two aces and a dig and Elysse Virden had one ace and two kills.
