Doris Lorraine Porter Cerniglia, 81, a 30-year resident of Carson City died Aug. 30, 2007.

She was born July 20, 1926, to Asbury Porter and Grace Constantine in Schenectady, N.Y. She married Nathan Cerniglia Sr. on Feb. 15, 1947. She was a homemaker.

She was a member of the PTA, a den mother for the Boy Scouts of America and volunteered helping children and adults with developmental and physical disabilities. She enjoyed gardening, camping and traveling.

She was preceded in death by her sister Adele Willey.

Among her survivors are her husband of 60 years; sister Lois Armstrong; son and daughter-in-law Nathan V. Cerniglia Jr. and Patricia; daughter and son-in-law Francine Cerniglia Kinsman and Dr. John Kinsman; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

A private celebration of life will be at a later date.

FitzHenry's Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
