All sorts: The members of the Presbyterian Church have in view the starting of a university in this city. It is proposed to teach the higher grades so that a young man about to enter college can fully prepare himself. Alf Doten went down to the Fair yesterday to see it through.

Mrs. Mary J. Walsh, mother of Ed Walsh the well known grocer of this city had a narrow escape from death at the Pedroli ranch on the King's Canyon Road. As she was crossing the field to drive home a cow belonging to her, a bull started after her, lifted her and the small child she was holding and threw them into a ditch. Employees of the ranch who had witnessed the scene rushed to Mrs. Walsh's aid.

The commissioners of Ormsby County did a better turn for the ladies a number of years ago than they realized. If you wish to know how and why, just observe the lot of divorcees and their lady companions who stop in front of the large mirror on the wall inside the front entrance ... they find the old furnishing of the famed Magnolia a great convenience.

One hundred riders ages 5 years old and up take to the Edmunds BMX bicycle track to race each other in a motocross-style bicycle race. The group is seeking residential construction tax monies from the Parks and Recreation Commission - $30,000 for lights and $15,000 for a storage facility.
