Health inspections

Carson City Health Department's food-service inspections and the date of inspection (all scores are on a 100-point scale, with points deducted depending on the severity of violations):

• Carson City Senior Citizens Center, 911 Beverly Dr., Food facility-fee exempt, scored 100 points.

• Galaxy Fandango 10, 4000 S. Curry St., restaurant, scored 100 points.

• Kim Lee's Sushi and Teri, 111 E. Telegraph St., restaurant, scored 99 points. Floor junctures are improperly maintained in the 2-C sink area. The coving is peeling away from the wall and forming pockets filled with debris.

• Thai Spice Kitchen, 111 E. Telegraph St., restaurant, scored 98 points. A supply of soap and paper towels were not present at the kitchen hand wash sink.

• Red's Old 395 Grill, 1055 S. Carson St., restaurant, scored 98 points. Ice cream was stored in the freezer without a cover under the pepperoni shelf. Food (rice, noodles, salt, seasonings) removed from original containers were not stored in containers with covers. (Repeat Violation)

• Red's Old 395 Grill, 1055 S. Carson St.,bar/lounge, scored 98 points. A supply of soap and paper towels were not present at the bar hand sink.

• Comma Coffee, 312 S. Carson St., restaurant, scored 96 points. Meat and milk is held cold at 45F in the large reach-in refrigerator. The refrigerator was not cooling properly. At least on employee of this establishment, must be a certified food handler. (Repeat Violation)

• Butler Meats, 1909 N. Carson St., meat department, scored 100 points. Establishment is clean and well maintained.

• Sonic Drive In, 1856 E. College Parkway, restaurant, scored 95 points. Readily perishable cold food is held above 46F. The meat is in/on the walk-in refrigerator at an internal temperature of 55-59F and is not being maintained at 40F or below.

• Capri Cafe, 885 Musser, food facility-fee exempt, scored 100 points.

• Applebee's, 3300 S. Carson St., bar/lounge, scored 100 points.

• Applebee's, 3300 S. Carson St., restaurant, scored 100 points.

• Szechwan Express, 3697 S. Carson St., restaurant, scored 96 points. There was no thermometer in the walk in cooler. Cloths used on food contact surfaces do not contain sanitizer residual. No sanitizer solution was available. Non-food contact surfaces of soda machine and hood are not clean. The mop bucket was found with dirty water and mop in it.

• City Cafe Bakery, 701 S. Carson St. #1, restaurant, scored 100 points.

• Cactus Jack's Senator Club, 420 S. Carson St., bar/lounge, scored 100 points.

• Mariscos Las Islitas, 316 W. Winnie Lane, restaurant, scored 100 points.

• Ming's Restaurant, 2330 S. Carson St., bar/lounge, scored 100 points.

• Ming's Restaurant, 2330 S. Carson St., restaurant, scored 96 points. Food is not stored in approved container. Do not use #10 cans as food storage containers. You must use only approved food containers. Once a #10 can has been opened, you must decant the product into an approved food container. Do not use #10 cans as scoops for food product. You must use scoops that have handles. Handles must remain out of product between uses. The hand sink must have soap, paper towels, and drain must be fixed.

• Super Mercado "El Torito", 304 E. Winnie Lane #308, meat department, scored 99 points. Lights are not properly shielded or protected in a meat display cooler.
