Hunan Garden closes

A North Carson Street restaurant that had recently changed owners is now closed.

Hunan Garden, 1480 N. Carson St., closed this month due to "issues it could not resolve" with the health inspection department, according to the city's business license office.

Jonathan Kimben took over the sushi restaurant from the Hurzel family in May. The family had owned the restaurant since 1982.

The Nevada Appeal ran an article Aug. 12 in which restaurant manager Doug Williams said the health department sent a list of code violations to the newspaper in July that happened in June even though the problems had been resolved.

The department said those violations had not been officially resolved.
