A memorial service for John Joseph McCann, 77, a 25-year resident of Carson City will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Lake Tahoe Christian Fellowship in South Lake Tahoe.
Mr. McCann died Sept. 23, 2007, at Evergreen Healthcare. He was born Sept. 24, 1929, to John J. McCann and Grace Kelly in Camden, N.J.
Prior to moving to Carson City he lived in Anaheim, Calif. He worked in the gaming industry. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a member of Lake Tahoe Christian Fellowship. He enjoyed listening to jazz, dancing and was a football enthusiast.
He was preceded in death by a sister.
Among his survivors are sons, Daniel McCann of Redlands, Calif., Jim McCann of Kiev, Ukraine, Gary McCann of Anaheim, John McCann of Alpine, Calif.; daughters, Colleen Logsdon of Louisville, Ky., and Donna McCann of Carson City; brother Ray McCann of New Jersey; sister Colleen Tanzi of Maryland and 14 grandchildren.
Cremation will take place at FitzHenry's Crematory.
FitzHenry's Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
