Carson spikers sweep South Tahoe

The Carson High volleyball team rolled to a 25-13, 25-19, 25-14 win at South Tahoe on Thursday.

Breann Anderson had six kills, six digs and three blocks, Danae Eckart had seven kills, one ace, six digs and four blocks, Blaike King had eight kills, six digs and one block and Shannon Earwood had three blocks, three digs, two kills and 27 assists for Carson (3-3 in the Sierra League).

"We played really well. We passed really well," said Carson coach Shana Wilkins, who also said her team served well. "Our offense looked amazing because we passed so well. We were able to do all the things we wanted to to because we passed so well."

DOUGLAS 3, HUG 0

Douglas (24-3, 6-0) rolled to a 25-14, 25-14, 25-15 win. Mary Lombino had a huge defensive match with 29 digs and added one ace and two points. Taryn Williams had nine kills, 13 digs, eight points and five aces, Jourdan Burke had six kills, four digs, one ace and one block, Alyssa Todd had six kills, one dig and four blocks, Christine DuPuis had five kills, one point and four digs, Melissa Brown had four kills, one ace, three digs and seven blocks, Bridget Maestretti had four kills, one point and three digs, Allie Hughes had two kills, four aces, 23 assists, one dig and four blocks, Megan Mitchell had two kills, five digs, eight assists and one block, Mysta Townsell served for eighth points and Jordan Marsh added two digs.

Douglas won the junior varsity match 2-0 and the freshmen match 2-0.

CHS FRESHMEN WIN

Carson won the freshmen match 17-25, 25-18, 15-7. Jazmine Stokes had one kill, Elizabeth Bennett-Doran had two aces, eight assists and a kill, Breann Perry had two aces and 10 assists, Makayla Drahos had four aces and seven kills, Bailey Young had one ace, four assists and four kills, Kleine Hernandez had two aces and three digs, Ashley Elliott had eight kills and Kristi Shaffer added one ace and one kill.
