Nadine J. Castillo, 73, an eight-year resident of Carson City, died Sept. 26, 2007, in Carson City.
Mrs. Castillo was born Oct. 30, 1933, to Ray and Emily Phillips, in Santa Barbara, Calif.
Prior to moving to Carson City she lived in Raton, N.M.
She was an LVN nurse working in ICU at General Hospital in Santa Barbara for many years.
She started the local food bank, clothing bank and Meals-On-Wheels program in Raton.
She enjoyed gardening, knitting, crocheting and making Indian reed baskets.
She was preceded in death by son Daniel Lee Castillo in 1999; brother, James Moreno; and sister, Maxine Pacheco.
Among her survivors are son, Rick Castillo of Palm Springs, Calif.; son and daughter-in-law, David and Sarah Castillo of Carmel Valley, Calif.; daughter and son-in-law, Kathryn and Dr. James Pincock of Carson City; brother, Bruce Phillips of Juneau, Alaska; brother and sister-in-law, Raymond and Gloria Phillips of Ojai, Calif.; sisters and brothers-in-law, Delores and Johnny Ferguson of Goleta, Calif., and Susan Sarah and Steve Rynas of Chapel Hill, N.C.; 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
A private family memorial service will be held.
Walton's Chapel of the Valley is in charge of arrangements.
