The Carson City Landfill is providing free dumping for Carson City residents. Anyone with a driver's license, proving Carson City residency, can bring "household" items and recycling to the dump for free Friday-Sunday. Don't miss this opportunity to haul off those tree limbs that broke in the wind or all those plastic water bottles because a little recycling goes a long ways in improving our environment.

The Celebrity Docs Caring for Cancer annual fundraiser was started by a dozen physicians in town donating their time to help raise much-needed funds for the Carson Tahoe Regional Cancer Center. All proceeds from tips, the raffle and an auction will be donated to the center. Local doctors put down their stethoscopes and replace the usual bartenders, making up a cocktail or two while delivering food. Let's hope they don't replace the chef. Right now you can purchase tickets to win of a 2008 Toyota Corolla LE, swing by Glen Eagles, check out the car and purchase tickets from Vicki. Tickets are also available at any of Dick Campagni's dealerships.

This new club caught my eye, what a fun idea. If you are anything from a wine snob to an amateur weekend warrior, checking out this club is a delicious idea. Wine Investigator of Novice or Oenophile statue (WINOS) is making a splash with five annual events, pairing feature vintners with area chefs' creative cuisine. The next stop will be B'Sghetti's restaurant. The dinner, the champagne reception and the wine selection/tasting is something you might be interested in checking out.
