CARSON HOST LION'S CLUB CRAB FEED

If you didn't get your ticket for Friday's St. Teresa's Crab Feed, don't fret too much because in March the Carson Host Lion's Club is holding its 9th annual Crab Feed. The Carson's Lion Club is the oldest active service club in Carson City. They have been providing an array of support to our community since 1932 assisting the blind and hearing impaired as well as one of my big favorites: Kid's Fishing Day. They also have a Facebook account so you can check out the photos from past crab feeds. Looks like fun! Social networking is wonderful.

WHAT: There will be dancing after the crab feed and a raffle. To donate a raffle prize, call Mel at the number below.

WHEN: Friday, March 11, no-host bar starts at 6 p.m., dinner is served at 7 p.m.

WHERE: Fuji Park Pavilion

COST: The cost is only $40. Dinner includes crab, barbecued tri-tip, barbecued chicken, salad and ice cream.

CONTACT: Mel Cooper at 882-4803 or Kathy McClintock at 885-8110

PROCEEDS BENEFIT: The visual and hearing impaired. Local scholarships and many more community-based events.

CARSON CITY CONVENTION AND

VISITORS BUREAU COUPONS

I like a good deal and I love coupons. The New Deal Coupons that the Carson City Convention and Visitors Bureau have on its website are outstanding. Times are hard and money is tight but you still want to enjoy life. There are coupons for out-of-town guests flying in who need a room, or there are local favorites like B'Sghetti's award-winning Italian food, or free dessert at ZBistro. One of my favorites is Locals BBQ & Grill coupon. Pop on the website, print out the coupons and enjoy. It's that easy. And if you have friends flying in, send them the link so they can get a cool room at the Hampton Inn or the Best Western.
