Washoe Valley traffic stopped in both directions

A fire continues to burn in Washoe Valley, and traffic is being blocked in both directions on Highway 395 as emergency crews respond to the fire.

Fire crews from Washoe County and Carson City are responding to the fire on the north end of the valley.

The fire is reported near the fire station off North East Lake Boulevard, east of Highway 395. It is reportedly burning in a north, northeasterly direction toward Andrew Lane, according to Nevada Highway Patrol Trooper Chuck Allen.

Andrew Lane access is being shut down by the Nevada Highway Patrol.

Winds through the Valley are estimated at between 60 and 70 mph.
