A celebration of Life will be held for Steve McCauley at Carson Valley Christian Center on Stephanie Lane, 4 p.m., August 8, 2008. The family requests that you celebrate with them by wearing his favorite color - red - to the service.
Steven Dean "Mac" McCauley a Carson Valley resident for the past 29 years died August 4, 2008. He was born January 4, 1950 in Santa Monica, Calif. to Franklin Curtis McCauley and Helen Ruth Carr-McCauley. Steve grew up and attended schools in Newbury Park and Oxnard, Calif. He moved to Lake Tahoe in 1978 where he worked for Incline Village General Improvement District for 28 years. He raised his family and met Janice Brown McCauley in Incline Village December 16, 1978. They married July 20, 1991. The family made their home in Carson Valley in 1992 where they reside today.
They celebrated life by riding motorcycles all over the country, camping, fishing, and spending time with their seven grandchildren. Steve was a member of the Nevada Wandering Wheels Motorcycle Club that donated time and money to many charities in this community. He was an avid supporter of the Carson Tahoe Medical Center and Make-a-Wish Foundation.
He is survived by wife Janice of Carson Valley; daughters, Cheryl Jean Czyz of Reno, Sarah Kathleen Hahn of Gardnerville, and Cassey Ann Strohmaier of Kings Beach; sister, Paula Hoaglan of Oxnard, Calif.; brother, Tom McCauley, of New Jersey; nephew, Timothy Isom of Santa Paula, Calif.; niece Jamie Isom of Oxnard, Calif. and seven grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his mother and father.
