Sunny skies today and Thursday

Today's weather calls for sunny skies with highs from 80-90 with light winds becoming southwest around 10 mph in the afternoon.

Tonight, clear with lows 53-63 and west winds 10-20 mph in the evening becoming light.

Thursday, sunny with highs 82-92 with light winds becoming southwest 10-15 mph in the afternoon.

Road work continues in Carson City with areas of delays, mainly Fairview Drive between Roop Street and South Lompa Lane, primarily between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m., and Highway 50 East between Airport Road and Saliman Road.

Resurfacing continues on Highway 50; traffic controls are in effect during all hours of the day with lane variations.

The closure of westbound Fairview Drive from Saliman Road to Roop Street is in effect through Aug. 31. Alternate routes of travel are Colorado Street to the south, and Little Lane to the north.

Traffic will be controlled at times; alternate routes are advised.

The Nevada Department of Transportation reports at 6:20 a.m. all roads open with no controls.
