"Tommy's Skizzle Sticks" Dean and Chris Skelley, of Carson City recently placed 33rd in the 2008 APA 8-Ball Doubles National Championship conducted by the American Poolplayers Association in Las Vegas August 15-17.

The father and son team are members of the APA Pool League and participate in weekly league play at Tommy's Bar in Carson City. They attended the National Team Championships to compete in the 8-Ball Doubles Championship for the first time this year. They played against numerous teams from across the United States, including Alabama, Oklahoma, and Texas, and impressively placed 33rd out of almost 200 teams.

"This was definitely a learning experience for Chris and I," said Chris' father, Dean. "We expect to be back next year with an even greater Northern Nevada presence."
