Guy Rocha to lecture at Nevada State Library

The Miss Carson City Scholarship Program is now accepting applications for the 2008 pageant. This year's pageant will be held on March 22 Everyone walks away with a scholarship.

Host families needed for '08-'09 school year


Program of Academic Exchange is seeking host families for students. During a 10-month stay, a student comes to understand what it really means to be an American. Students will be arriving in August for the 2008-09 school year. For information, call 841-7423.

Carson City Republican Lincoln Day Dinner


The Carson City Republican Party will hold its Lincoln Day Dinner 7 p.m. Friday at the Nugget. The speaker will be Congressman Duncan Hunter. A VIP reception will be at Glen Eagles at 4:30 p.m. The reception costs $40, the buffet dinner is $35; or $70 for both events.
