Mud Fest 2008 for Douglas volleyball

Mud Fest 2008, a mud volleyball tournament and barbecue, will be held on August 9 at Herbig Park to support the Douglas High volleyball program.

There will be competitive and recreational divisions and a minimum of three games. The entry fee of $200 per team if registered before July 15 also incudes a tournament t-shirt. For more information, go to mudfest08@yahoo.com.

Capital City VB will hold summer clinics

The Capital City Volleyball Club will conduct a wide variety of specialized summer clinics for girls entering grades 3-12, including the second Annual College Coaches Clinic, which features four college head coaches, each conducting a one-day clinic.

Each clinic is designed to maximize individual player development. The 2008 summer schedule includes:

Individual Skill Clinics: those entering grades 7-12, Tuesday and Thursdays, July 8-31, 6-8:30 p.m. Youth Fundamental Clinic: those entering grades 3-6, Wednesdays, July 9-30, 6-8 p.m. College Coaches Clinic: Advanced level players entering graders 8-12, August 3-6. Get Ready for School Clinic: those entering grades 7-12, August 8-10.

All clinics will be held at the Silver State Athletic Center, located at 5680 Morgan Mill Road in Carson City.
