Alfred Grimes, 84, a Carson City resident, died May 29, 2008. Mr. Grimes was born July 17, 1923 in Troy, Ala. Mr. Grimes served in the United States Marine Corps during World War II, receiving the Purple Heart Medal for his service. Graveside services will be held at Arlington National Cemetery in Virginia. Mr. Grimes is survived by his son Fred Grimes of Carson City, daughter Dolores Baker of Cheyenne, Wyo., sister Beulah Mae Gay of Georgia, three grandchildren, three great grandchildren and one niece. Autumn Funerals and Cremations is in charge of arrangements.
