Road work continues in Carson City with areas of delays, mainly Fairview Drive between Roop Street and South Lompa Lane, primarily between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m., and Highway 50 East between Airport Road and Saliman Road.

The closure of westbound Fairview Drive from Saliman Road to Roop Street is in effect through Aug. 31. Alternate routes of travel are Colorado Street to the south, and Little Lane to the north.

Traffic will be controlled at times; alternate routes are advised.

The Nevada Department of Transportation reports at 6:19 a.m. all roads open with no controls.

Today's weather will be mostly sunny with highs 84-94 with light winds southwest up to 10 mph in the afternoon.

Tonight, clear with lows 50-60 with west winds 10-15 mph.

Saturday, breezy and sunny in the morning becoming partly cloudy with a slight chance of thunderstorms in the afternoon. Highs 85-95 with southwest winds around 10 mph increasing to 15-20 mph with gusts up to 35 mph in the afternoon.

Saturday night, breezy and partly cloudy in the evening then clearing. Lows 49-59 with southwest winds 15-20 mph with gusts up to 30 mph decreasing to around 10 mph after midnight.

Sunday, sunny with highs 81-91 with southwest winds around 10 mph shifting to the west 15-20 mph with gusts up to 30 mph in the afternoon.
